ABOUT TYLER DIAL
At the fresh age of 22, Tyler Dial is fast becoming an accomplished singer, songwriter, recording artist, and entertainer. Having performed extensively on his own around the desert southwest, as well as having opened for numerous nationally acclaimed recording artists, Ty is currently working on the follow-up record to his “west-coast, street-country” self-titled debut.
Four years ago, Ty adopted his father’s home state of Texas. He is currently pursuing a degree from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, with plans to graduate in the spring 2018.
Naturally, with all the great country music heritage that Austin has to offer, Ty is fast becoming an active participant in the live music scene, where he has opened for artists like Cody Johnson, Pat Green, Wade Bowen, Jack Ingram, Cole Swindell, Jake Owen, and more. During his summer breaks and time off, Ty lives in Nashville where he explores his songwriting craft.
On his recent self-titled (concept) album, you will find a unique blend of contemporary thought, combined with forward leaning fiddle, lap, pedal steel, and dobro guitar parts, all brought to life by none-other-than Grammy winning artists such as: Lloyd Maines, Jimmy Mattingly, Bruce Bouton. The amazing Joanna Cotton, an artist in her own right (currently out with Eric Church), who provided a powerful set of background vocals. The record was produced by Bob Hoag at Flying Blanket Studios in Arizona and the break-out single, “Damn Good Time,” was mixed by the incredible Chuck Ainlay out of Sound Stage in Nashville.
Tyler’s work is inspired by established and new artists alike. On one end of the spectrum his influences range from Garth Brooks, The Rolling Stones, and The Eagles to Sam Hunt, The Brothers Osborne, and Little Big Town on the other. You’ll even find a banjo and fiddle forward (hard driving) cover of KISS’s “Hard Luck Woman” combined with a soulful rendition of Amos Lee’s “Flower,” representing the only two cuts not written by Ty on the album.
This year, Tyler looks forward to completing his second album, touring selective dates throughout Texas, California, Colorado, and his home state of Arizona, before hitting the road for good in the Summer of 2018, once he’s finally graduated from the University of Texas.
